Duncan G. McFarlane

Wildlife Artist

A resident of Brule Point, formerly of Markham, Ontario, born and educated in Scotland, Duncan emigrated to Canada in 1951. After working 40 years primarily in Aerospace Design, including participation on Canada’s Remote Manipulator Arm and Canada’s portion of the Space Station, Duncan has put his interest in nature on paper.

A self taught artist, his primary medium is prismacolour, and occasionally charcoal, pastel and oil. He is a member of the Colored Pencil Society of America and the Truro Art Society.

Duncan has exhibited in Ontario, at Kawartha Arts Festival, Wye Marsh Arts festival, Orillia Waterfowl Festival, Pelham and Port Perry Art shows, as well as the 1889 Gallery in Tatamagouche, the World Trade and Convention Center, Halifax, and the Truro Art Society.

"A picture is not solely created by your eyes and hands, but by your spirit and a respect for your subject." Duncan hopes his pictures awaken in the viewer a moment of appreciation for nature.

His art product has been sold across the North American Continent.
